share a dinner together and enjoy worship, fellowship, and Bible Studies. At the same time there is a Faith Weaver Friends for
childrens activities and a nursery for the younger ones. |

| Primetimers |
| Primetimers
meet monthly except during the summer months for fellowship,
spiritual growth travel and ministry to others. During the past
year the Primetimers made trips to the Mint Museum in Charlotte,
the Frescoes in West Jefferson, the Flatrock Playhouse and the
Zoo in Asheboro. Monthly programs focused on issues related
to needs of older persons. A vital ministry to frail elderly
in nursing homes and private homes is carried out in a systematic
and compassionate manner. |
| Generations |
| Multi-generational fellowship and service group that meets monthly. This group does have family events and adult only events. |
| Youth
Groups |
Our
Youth Group program is made up of three groups: the third through
fifth grade group, the middle school group (6th through 8th
grades), and the high school group (9th through 12th grades).
Our youth program is organized into five pillars:
1)
Service
2) Worship
3) Study
4) Fellowship
5) Family |
Through
these five areas the youth in this community of faith are
both nurtured in the faith while at the same time nurturing
the faith of the entire congregation. We seek to identify
and foster the God given gifts of each young person to make
a difference in this church and in the world in the name
of Jesus Christ. The youth are NOT the church of the future,
the youth are the church NOW, and through the relationships
that are built across generational lines, they live as followers
of Christ experiencing the joy of being children of God.
Come join us, for in God's name we play!
We
meet weekly on Sunday nights
3rd/5th grade - 4:30-5:30pm to meet 2nd & 4th Sunday each month
Middle School - 6:30-8:00pm
High School - 6:30-8:00pm |

| Columbarium
Memorial Garden |
In
2000, 1st Presbyterian church constructed a Columbarium located
at the east side of the sanctuary building. It is a place for
inurnment, interment, and memorializing members of the the church.
Niches for holding the ashes are placed in the brick wall surrounding
the Memorial Garden. Designated locations will also be available
within the Garden for the burial of cremains. A Memorial Tablet
is available for members who have been interred elsewhere.
The gardens and fountain also provide a quiet and dignified
place of peace and beauty for loved ones to meditate and pray,
and will be hallowed ground, sacred to the memory of those who
have joined the Church Triumphant.
Further information or reservation for inurnment or interrment
may be made by contacting the church
office. |
