Salt Shakers Dinner Groups:

WHY: Table Fellowship was important to Jesus (Mark 2:15; Mark 14:22; Luke 19:5; Luke 24:30; Luke 24:41; John 2:2; John 13:1-20), and should be important to us. The Greek word koinonia, roughly translated as “fellowship,” appears 19 times in the New Testament, and is first found in Acts 2:42-47, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”
WHO: Any member of First Presbyterian Church can sign-up to be a part of a Salt Shakers Dinner Group. You can sign-up to participate in Salt Shakers with children, or without children.
WHAT: Each Salt Shaker Group is made-up of four couples (individuals will be put in pairs…) or three families. These groups are for “Table Fellowship” only! There is no program or study. By signing up, you are committing to host the group at your residence once, and to bring a side dish, salad, or dessert to the other dinners. The host couple or family provides the main dish.
WHEN: Your Salt Shaker Group will meet once each month for four months: January, February, March, and April (for spring groups) or August, September, October, and November (for fall groups). Your group will decide the best time to meet for dinner. Your group’s coordinator will help organize your group. After each season (fall or spring) you can decide to take a break from Salt Shakers, or sign up again for a totally new group and experience!

Keep your eyes open for these wonderful summer events on Wednesday nights. You just never know what the fellowship committee is cooking up!
